ಲೇವಿಯರ ಪಿತೃಗಳ ಹಿರಿಯರು ಕಾನಾನ್‌ ದೇಶದ ಶೀಲೋವಿನಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಯಾಜಕ ನಾದ ಎಲಿಯಾಜರನ ಬಳಿಗೂ ನೂನನ ಮಗನಾದ ಯೆಹೋಶುವನ ಬಳಿಗೂ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲ್‌ ಮಕ್ಕಳ ಗೋತ್ರಗಳ ಪಿತೃಗಳಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಹಿರಿಯರ ಬಳಿಗೂ ಬಂದು ಅವರ ಸಂಗಡ ಮಾತನಾಡಿ--

- 2ನಾವು ವಾಸವಾಗಿರುವ ಪಟ್ಟಣಗಳನ್ನು ನಮ್ಮ ಪಶುಗಳಿಗೋಸ್ಕರ ಅವುಗಳ ಉಪನಗರಗಳೊಂದಿಗೆ ನಮಗೆ ಕೊಡಬೇಕೆಂದು ಕರ್ತನು ಮೋಶೆಯ ಮುಖಾಂತರವಾಗಿ ಆಜ್ಞಾಪಿಸಿ ದ್ದಾನೆ ಅಂದರು.
