ಆ ಮನುಷ್ಯನು ಸಿಕ್ಕುವ ಸ್ಥಳದಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರವಾಸಿಯಾಗುವದಕ್ಕೆ ಯೆಹೂದದ ಬೇತ್ಲೆಹೇಮ್‌ ಪಟ್ಟಣವನ್ನು ಬಿಟ್ಟುಹೋದನು; ಪ್ರಯಾಣಮಾಡುವಾಗ ಎಫ್ರಾಯಾಮ್‌ ಬೆಟ್ಟದ ಲ್ಲಿರುವ ವಿಾಕನ ಮನೆಯ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಬಂದನು.
Aa manushyanu sikkuva sthaladalli pravaasiyaaguvadakke yehoodada betlehem pattanavannu bittuhodanu; prayaanamaaduvaaga ephraayaam bettada lliruva viాkana maneya balige bandanu.

- 9ಆಗ ವಿಾಕನು ಅವನಿಗೆ--ನೀನು ಎಲ್ಲಿಂದ ಬಂದಿ ಅಂದನು. ಇವನು ಅವನಿಗೆ--ನಾನು ಯೆಹೂದದ ಬೇತ್ಲೆಹೇಮಿ ನವನಾದ ಲೇವಿಯನು: ನಾನು ಸಿಕ್ಕುವ ಸ್ಥಳದಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರವಾಸಿಯಾಗಬೇಕೆಂದು ಹೋಗುತ್ತೇನೆ ಅಂದನು.
- 10ವಿಾಕನು ಅವನಿಗೆ--ನೀನು ನನ್ನ ಬಳಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ವಾಸಮಾಡಿ ನನಗೆ ತಂದೆಯಾಗಿಯೂ ಯಾಜಕನಾ ಗಿಯೂ ಇರು; ನಾನು ನಿನಗೆ ವರುಷಕ್ಕೆ ಹತ್ತು ಬೆಳ್ಳಿಯ ನಾಣ್ಯಗಳನ್ನೂ ಒಂದು ದುಸ್ತು ವಸ್ತ್ರಗಳನ್ನೂ ಆಹಾರ ವನ್ನೂ ಕೊಡುವೆನು ಅಂದನು. ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ಲೇವಿಯನು ಹೋದನು. ಲೇವಿಯು ಆ ಮನುಷ್ಯನ ಬಳಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ವಾಸವಾಗಿರುವದಕ್ಕೆ ಸಮ್ಮತಿಪಟ್ಟನು.
