ಅವನು ಅಮ್ಮೋನನ ಮತ್ತು ಅಮಾಲೇ ಕ್ಯನ ಮಕ್ಕಳನ್ನು ಕೂಡಿಸಿಕೊಂಡು ಬಂದು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲ್ಯ ರನ್ನು ಹೊಡೆದು ಖರ್ಜೂರ ಗಿಡದ ಪಟ್ಟಣವನ್ನು ಸ್ವಾಧೀನಮಾಡಿಕೊಂಡನು.

- 12ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲ್‌ ಮಕ್ಕಳು ಕರ್ತನ ಮುಂದೆ ತಿರಿಗಿ ಕೆಟ್ಟತನ ಮಾಡಿದರು. ಅವರು ಕರ್ತನ ಮುಂದೆ ಕೆಟ್ಟತನ ಮಾಡಿದ್ದರಿಂದ ಕರ್ತನು ಮೋವಾಬ್ಯರ ಅರಸನಾದ ಎಗ್ಲೋನನನ್ನು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲಿಗೆ ವಿರೋಧವಾಗಿ ಬಲ ಪಡಿಸಿದನು.

- 14ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲ್‌ ಮಕ್ಕಳು ಮೊವಾಬ್ಯರ ಅರಸನಾದ ಎಗ್ಲೋನನನ್ನು ಹದಿನೆಂಟು ವರುಷ ಸೇವಿಸಿದರು.
- 15ಆದರೆ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲ್‌ ಮಕ್ಕಳು ಕರ್ತನನ್ನು ಕೂಗಿದಾಗ ಕರ್ತನು ಅವರಿಗೆ ಬೆನ್ಯಾವಿಾನ ನಾದ ಗೇರನ ಮಗನಾದ ಏಹೂದನನ್ನು ರಕ್ಷಿಸುವದಕ್ಕೆ ಎಬ್ಬಿಸಿದನು. ಅವನು ಎಡಗೈಯವನಾಗಿದ್ದನು. ಅವನ ಕೈಯಿಂದ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲ್‌ ಮಕ್ಕಳು ಮೋವಾಬಿನ ಅರಸನಾದ ಎಗ್ಲೋನನಿಗೆ ಕಾಣಿಕೆಯನ್ನು ಕಳುಹಿಸಿ ದರು.
