ಸುಖೋತಿನ ಮನುಷ್ಯರಲ್ಲಿ ಒಬ್ಬ ಯೌವನಸ್ಥನನ್ನು ಹಿಡಿದು ಅವನನ್ನು ಕೇಳಿದಾಗ ಅವನು--ಸುಖೋತಿನ ಪ್ರಧಾನರೂ ಹಿರಿಯರೂ ಆದ ಎಪ್ಪತ್ತೇಳು ಜನರನ್ನು ಅವನಿಗೆ ವಿವರಿಸಿದನು.
Sukhotina manushyaralli obba yauvanasthanannu hididu avanannu kelidaaga avanu--sukhotina pradhaanaroo hiriyaroo aada eppattelu janarannu avanige vivarisidanu.

- 15ಗಿದ್ಯೋನನು ಸುಖೋತಿನ ಮನುಷ್ಯರ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಬಂದು--ಇಗೋ, ದಣಿದಿರುವ ನಿನ್ನ ಮನುಷ್ಯರಿಗೆ ನಾವು ರೊಟ್ಟಿಯನ್ನು ಕೊಡುವ ಹಾಗೆ ಜೆಬಹ ಚಲ್ಮು ನ್ನರ ಕೈ ಈಗಲೇ ನಿನ್ನ ಕೈವಶವಾಗಿದೆಯೋ ಎಂದು ನೀವು ನನ್ನನ್ನು ನಿಂದಿಸಿದ ಜೆಬಹನನ್ನೂ ಚಲ್ಮುನ್ನನನ್ನೂ ನೋಡಿರಿ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿ
- 16ಪಟ್ಟಣದ ಹಿರಿಯರನ್ನು ಹಿಡಿದು ಅರಣ್ಯದ ಮುಳ್ಳುಗಳನ್ನೂ ನೆಗ್ಗಿಲು ಮುಳ್ಳು ಗಳನ್ನೂ ತಕ್ಕೊಂಡು ಅವುಗಳಿಂದ ಸುಖೋತಿನ ಮನು ಷ್ಯರಿಗೆ ಬುದ್ದಿಕಲಿಸಿದನು.

- 1 Samuel 30:11–15 1 ಸಮುವೇಲನು 30:11–15ಅವರು ಒಬ್ಬ ಐಗುಪ್ತ್ಯನನ್ನು ಅಡವಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಕಂಡುಕೊಂಡು ಅವನನ್ನು ದಾವೀದನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ತಂದು ಅವನಿಗೆ ರೊಟ್ಟಿಕೊಟ್ಟರು; ಅವನು ತಿಂದನು. ಅವನಿಗೆ ನೀರನ್ನು ಕುಡಿಸಿ ಅಂಜೂರದ ಫಲದ ಅಡೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಒಂದು ತುಂಡನ್ನೂ ಒಣಗಿದ ಎರಡು ದ್ರಾಕ್ಷೇ ಗೊಂಚಲುಗಳನ್ನೂ ಅವನಿಗೆ ಕೊಟ್ಟರು. ಅವನು ಅವುಗಳನ್ನು ತಿಂದು ಪ್ರಾಣದಲ್ಲಿ ಚೇತರಿಸಿ ಕೊಂಡನು. ಯಾಕಂದರೆ ಅವನು ರಾತ್ರಿ ಹಗಲು ಮೂರು ದಿವಸದಿಂದ ರೊಟ್ಟಿ ತಿಂದಿರಲಿಲ್ಲ, ನೀರನ್ನೂ ಕುಡಿದಿರಲಿಲ್ಲ. ದಾವೀದನು ಅವನನ್ನು--ನೀನು ಯಾರವನು? ನೀನು ಎಲ್ಲಿಯವನು ಎಂದು ಕೇಳಿದಾಗ ಅವನು--ನಾನು ಒಬ್ಬ ಅಮಾಲೇಕ್ಯನ ಸೇವಕನಾದ ಐಗುಪ್ತದೇಶದ ಯೌವನಸ್ಥನು. ಈ ಮೂರು ದಿವಸ ನಾನು ರೋಗದಲ್ಲಿ ಬಿದ್ದದರಿಂದ ನನ್ನ ಯಜಮಾನನು ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಬಿಟ್ಟುಹೋದನು. ಆದರೆ ನಾವು ಕೆರೇತ್ಯರ ದಕ್ಷಿಣ ಪಾರ್ಶ್ವದ ಮೇಲೆಯೂ ಯೆಹೂದದ ಮೇರೆಯ ಮೇಲೆಯೂ ಕಾಲೇಬನ ದಕ್ಷಿಣ ಪಾರ್ಶ್ವದ ಮೇಲೆ ಯೂ ಬಿದ್ದು ಚಿಕ್ಲಗನ್ನು ಬೆಂಕಿಯಿಂದ ಸುಟ್ಟುಬಿಟ್ಟೆವು ಅಂದನು. ದಾವೀದನು ಅವನಿಗೆ--ನೀನು ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಆ ದಂಡಿಗೆ ಕರಕೊಂಡು ಹೋಗುತ್ತೀಯಾ ಎಂದು ಕೇಳಿದನು. ಅದಕ್ಕವನು--ನೀನು ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಕೊಂದು ಹಾಕುವದಿಲ್ಲ ಇಲ್ಲವೆ ನನ್ನನ್ನು ನನ್ನ ಯಾಜಮಾನನ ಕೈಯಲ್ಲಿ ಒಪ್ಪಿಸಿಕೊಡುವದಿಲ್ಲ ಎಂದು ನನಗೆ ದೇವರ ಹೆಸರಿನಿಂದ ಪ್ರಮಾಣಕೊಟ್ಟರೆ ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ಆ ದಂಡಿಗೆ ಕರಕೊಂಡು ಹೋಗುತ್ತೇನೆ ಅಂದನು.
