ಅಬೀಮೆಲೆಕನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ರಹಸ್ಯವಾಗಿ ದೂತರನ್ನು ಕಳುಹಿಸಿ--ಇಗೋ, ಎಬೆದನ ಮಗನಾದ ಗಾಳನೂ ಅವನ ಸಹೋದರರೂ ಶೆಕೆಮಿಗೆ ಬಂದಿದ್ದಾರೆ ಮತ್ತು ಇಗೋ, ಅವರು ಪಟ್ಟಣವನ್ನು ನಿನಗೆ ವಿರೋಧವಾಗಿ ಬಲಪಡಿಸುತ್ತಾರೆ.

Abeemelekana balige rahasyavaagi dootarannu kaluhisi--igo, ebedana maganaada gaalanoo avana sahodararoo shekemige bandiddaare mattu igo, avaru pattanavannu ninage virodhavaagi balapadisuttaare.

King James Version (KJV): And he sent messengers unto Abimelech privily, saying, Behold, Gaal the son of Ebed and his brethren be come to Shechem; and, behold, they fortify the city against thee.

29ಈ ಜನರನ್ನು ದೇವರು ನನ್ನ ಕೈಗೆ ಒಪ್ಪಿಸಿದರೆ ಚೆನ್ನಾಗಿತ್ತು, ಆಗ ನಾನು ಅಬೀಮೆಲೆಕನನ್ನು ತೆಗೆದುಹಾಕುವೆನು. ಅವನು ಅಬೀಮೆಲೆಕನಿಗೆ--ನೀನು ನಿನ್ನ ಸೈನ್ಯವನ್ನು ಹೆಚ್ಚಿಸಿಕೊಂಡು ಹೊರಟು ಬಾ ಅಂದನು.
30ಆ ಪಟ್ಟಣದ ಅಧಿಪತಿಯಾದ ಜೆಬುಲನು ಎಬೆದನ ಮಗನಾದ ಗಾಳನು ಹೇಳಿದ ಮಾತುಗಳನ್ನು ಕೇಳಿದಾಗ ಕೋಪಗೊಂಡು

33ಹೊತ್ತಾರೆ ಸೂರ್ಯನು ಉದಯಿಸುವಾಗ ನೀನು ಎದ್ದು ಪಟ್ಟಣದ ಮೇಲೆ ಬೀಳಬೇಕು; ಇಗೋ, ಅವನೂ ಅವನ ಸಂಗಡ ಇರುವ ಜನರೂ ನಿಮಗೆದು ರಾಗಿ ಹೊರಟು ಬರುವಾಗ ನಿನಗೆ ಅನುಕೂಲ ತೋರಿದ ಹಾಗೆ ಅವನಿಗೆ ಮಾಡಬಹುದು ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದನು.
