ಆದರೆ ಪಟ್ಟಣದ ಒಳಗೆ ಬಲವಾದ ಗೋಪುರ ಇತ್ತು; ಆ ಪಟ್ಟಣದಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಸಮಸ್ತ ಸ್ತ್ರೀ ಪುರುಷರು ಅಲ್ಲಿಗೆ ಓಡಿಹೋಗಿ ಅದರಲ್ಲಿ ಹೊಕ್ಕು ತಮ್ಮ ಹಿಂದಿನಿಂದ ಬಾಗಲನ್ನು ಮುಚ್ಚಿ ಗೋಪುರದ ಮೇಲೆ ಏರಿದರು.

Aadare pattanada olage balavaada gopura ittu; aa pattanadalliruva samasta stree purusharu allige odihogi adaralli hokku tamma hindininda baagalannu muchchi gopurada mele eridaru.

49ಜನರಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರತಿಯೊಬ್ಬನು ಒಂದೊಂದು ಕೊಂಬೆ ಯನ್ನು ಕಡಿದು ಅಬೀಮೆಲೆಕನ ಹಿಂದೆ ಹೋಗಿ ಅವುಗಳನ್ನು ಆ ಭದ್ರವಾದ ಸ್ಥಳಕ್ಕೆ ಹಾಕಿ ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಬೆಂಕಿಯನ್ನು ಹಚ್ಚಿದರು. ಆಗ ಶೆಕೆಮಿನ ಗೋಪುರ ದಲ್ಲಿರುವವರೆಲ್ಲರೂ ಹೆಚ್ಚು ಕಡಿಮೆ ಸಾವಿರ ಸ್ತ್ರೀ ಪುರುಷರು ಸತ್ತರು.
50ಆಗ ಅಬೀಮೆಲೆಕನು ತೇಬೇಚಿಗೆ ಹೋಗಿ ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ವಿರೋಧವಾಗಿ ದಂಡಿಳಿಸಿ ಅದನ್ನು ಹಿಡಿದನು.
51ಆದರೆ ಪಟ್ಟಣದ ಒಳಗೆ ಬಲವಾದ ಗೋಪುರ ಇತ್ತು; ಆ ಪಟ್ಟಣದಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಸಮಸ್ತ ಸ್ತ್ರೀ ಪುರುಷರು ಅಲ್ಲಿಗೆ ಓಡಿಹೋಗಿ ಅದರಲ್ಲಿ ಹೊಕ್ಕು ತಮ್ಮ ಹಿಂದಿನಿಂದ ಬಾಗಲನ್ನು ಮುಚ್ಚಿ ಗೋಪುರದ ಮೇಲೆ ಏರಿದರು.
52ಆಗ ಅಬೀಮೆಲೆಕನು ಆ ಗೋಪುರಕ್ಕೆ ಬಂದು ಅದರ ವಿರುದ್ಧ ಯುದ್ಧಮಾಡಿ ಗೋಪುರದ ಬಾಗಲನ್ನು ಸುಟ್ಟು ಬಿಡುವದಕ್ಕೆ ಅದರ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಬಂದನು.
53ಆದರೆ ಒಬ್ಬ ಸ್ತ್ರೀಯು ಒಂದು ಬೀಸುವ ಕಲ್ಲಿನ ತುಂಡನ್ನು ಅಬೀಮೆಲೆಕನ ತಲೆಯ ಮೇಲೆ ಹಾಕಿ; ಅದರಿಂದ ಅವನ ತಲೆಯನ್ನು ಒಡೆದುಹಾಕಿದಳು.
