3. 49ಜನರಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರತಿಯೊಬ್ಬನು ಒಂದೊಂದು ಕೊಂಬೆ ಯನ್ನು ಕಡಿದು ಅಬೀಮೆಲೆಕನ ಹಿಂದೆ ಹೋಗಿ ಅವುಗಳನ್ನು ಆ ಭದ್ರವಾದ ಸ್ಥಳಕ್ಕೆ ಹಾಕಿ ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಬೆಂಕಿಯನ್ನು ಹಚ್ಚಿದರು. ಆಗ ಶೆಕೆಮಿನ ಗೋಪುರ ದಲ್ಲಿರುವವರೆಲ್ಲರೂ ಹೆಚ್ಚು ಕಡಿಮೆ ಸಾವಿರ ಸ್ತ್ರೀ ಪುರುಷರು ಸತ್ತರು.
4. 50ಆಗ ಅಬೀಮೆಲೆಕನು ತೇಬೇಚಿಗೆ ಹೋಗಿ ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ವಿರೋಧವಾಗಿ ದಂಡಿಳಿಸಿ ಅದನ್ನು ಹಿಡಿದನು.
5. 51ಆದರೆ ಪಟ್ಟಣದ ಒಳಗೆ ಬಲವಾದ ಗೋಪುರ ಇತ್ತು; ಆ ಪಟ್ಟಣದಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಸಮಸ್ತ ಸ್ತ್ರೀ ಪುರುಷರು ಅಲ್ಲಿಗೆ ಓಡಿಹೋಗಿ ಅದರಲ್ಲಿ ಹೊಕ್ಕು ತಮ್ಮ ಹಿಂದಿನಿಂದ ಬಾಗಲನ್ನು ಮುಚ್ಚಿ ಗೋಪುರದ ಮೇಲೆ ಏರಿದರು.
