ಪಶುವನ್ನು ಕೊಲ್ಲುವವನು ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಬದಲು ಕೊಡಬೇಕು; ಮನುಷ್ಯ ನನ್ನು ಕೊಲ್ಲುವವನನ್ನು ಮರಣಕ್ಕೆ ಒಳಪಡಿಸಬೇಕು.
Pashuvannu kolluvavanu adakke badalu kodabeku; manushya nannu kolluvavanannu maranakke olapadisabeku.

- 20ಮುರಿತಕ್ಕೆ ಮುರಿತ, ಕಣ್ಣಿಗೆ ಕಣ್ಣು, ಹಲ್ಲಿಗೆ ಹಲ್ಲು, ಅವನು ಒಬ್ಬನಿಗೆ ಊನಮಾಡಿದ ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ಅವನಿಗೂ ಮಾಡಬೇಕು.

- 22ನಿಮಗೆ ಒಂದೇ ವಿಧವಾದ ನ್ಯಾಯಪ್ರಮಾಣವಿರ ಬೇಕು. ಸ್ವದೇಶಸ್ಥನಿಗೆ ಇರುವಂತೆಯೇ ಪರಕೀಯನಿಗೂ ಇರಬೇಕು. ನಿಮ್ಮ ದೇವರಾಗಿರುವ ಕರ್ತನು ನಾನೇ.ಶಪಿಸಿದವನನ್ನು ಪಾಳೆಯದ ಹೊರಗೆ ತಂದು ಅವನನ್ನು ಕಲ್ಲೆಸೆಯುವಂತೆ ಮೋಶೆಯು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲ್‌ ಮಕ್ಕಳೊಂದಿಗೆ ಮಾತನಾಡಿದನು. ಆಗ ಕರ್ತನು ಮೋಶೆಗೆ ಆಜ್ಞಾಪಿಸಿದಂತೆಯೇ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲ್‌ ಮಕ್ಕಳು ಮಾಡಿದರು.
- 23ಶಪಿಸಿದವನನ್ನು ಪಾಳೆಯದ ಹೊರಗೆ ತಂದು ಅವನನ್ನು ಕಲ್ಲೆಸೆಯುವಂತೆ ಮೋಶೆಯು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲ್‌ ಮಕ್ಕಳೊಂದಿಗೆ ಮಾತನಾಡಿದನು. ಆಗ ಕರ್ತನು ಮೋಶೆಗೆ ಆಜ್ಞಾಪಿಸಿದಂತೆಯೇ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲ್‌ ಮಕ್ಕಳು ಮಾಡಿದರು.
