ಅದೇ ಗಳಿಗೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರಧಾನಯಾಜಕರೂ ಶಾಸ್ತ್ರಿಗಳೂ ಆತನ ಮೇಲೆ ಕೈ ಹಾಕುವದಕ್ಕೆ ಹವಣಿ ಸಿದರು; ಯಾಕಂದರೆ ಅತನು ತಮಗೆ ವಿರೋಧ ವಾಗಿಯೇ ಈ ಸಾಮ್ಯವನ್ನು ಹೇಳಿದ್ದನೆಂದು ಅವರು ತಿಳಿದುಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದರು; ಆದರೆ ಅವರು ಜನರಿಗೆ ಭಯಪಟ್ಟರು.
