ಪ್ರಧಾನ ಯಾಜಕರೂ ಫರಿಸಾಯರೂ ಆತನ ಸಾಮ್ಯಗಳನ್ನು ಕೇಳಿ ತಮ್ಮ ವಿಷಯದಲ್ಲಿಯೇ ಆತನು ಅದನ್ನು ಹೇಳಿದನೆಂದು ಅವರು ತಿಳುಕೊಂಡರು.ಆದರೆ ಅವರು ಆತನನ್ನು ಹಿಡಿಯುವದಕ್ಕೆ ಪ್ರಯತ್ನಿಸಿದಾಗ ಜನಸಮೂಹಕ್ಕೆ ಭಯಪಟ್ಟರು; ಯಾಕಂದರೆ ಅವರು ಆತನನ್ನು ಪ್ರವಾದಿಯೆಂದು ಎಣಿಸಿದ್ದರು.
