ಆಗ ಸೈತಾನನು ಆತ ನಿಗೆ--ನೀನು ದೇವಕುಮಾರನಾಗಿದ್ದರೆ ಈ ಕಲ್ಲು ರೊಟ್ಟಿಯಾಗುವಂತೆ ಅಪ್ಪಣೆಕೊಡು ಅಂದನು.

Aaga saitaananu aata nige--neenu devakumaaranaagiddare ee kallu rottiyaaguvante appanekodu andanu.

1ಯೇಸು ಪರಿಶುದ್ಧಾತ್ಮನಿಂದ ತುಂಬಿದವನಾಗಿ ಯೊರ್ದನಿನಿಂದ ಹಿಂತಿರುಗಿ ಬಂದು ಆತ್ಮ ನಿಂದ ಅಡವಿಯೊಳಕ್ಕೆ ನಡಿಸಲ್ಪಟ್ಟು
2ನಾಲ್ವತ್ತು ದಿನಗಳು ಸೈತಾನನಿಂದ ಶೋಧಿಸಲ್ಪಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದನು. ಆ ದಿನಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಆತನು ಏನೂ ತಿನ್ನಲಿಲ್ಲ. ಅವು ಮುಗಿದ ಮೇಲೆ ಆತನು ಹಸಿದನು.
3ಆಗ ಸೈತಾನನು ಆತ ನಿಗೆ--ನೀನು ದೇವಕುಮಾರನಾಗಿದ್ದರೆ ಈ ಕಲ್ಲು ರೊಟ್ಟಿಯಾಗುವಂತೆ ಅಪ್ಪಣೆಕೊಡು ಅಂದನು.
4ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಯೇಸು ಪ್ರತ್ಯುತ್ತರವಾಗಿ ಅವನಿಗೆ--ಮನುಷ್ಯನು ರೊಟ್ಟಿಯಿಂದ ಮಾತ್ರವೇ ಅಲ್ಲ, ಆದರೆ ದೇವರ ಪ್ರತಿಯೊಂದು ಮಾತಿನಿಂದ ಜೀವಿಸುವನು ಎಂದು ಬರೆದದೆ ಅಂದನು.
5ಬಳಿಕ ಸೈತಾನನು ಉನ್ನತವಾದ ಬೆಟ್ಟಕ್ಕೆ ಆತನನ್ನು ಕರಕೊಂಡುಹೋಗಿ ಲೋಕದ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ರಾಜ್ಯಗಳನ್ನು ಕ್ಷಣಮಾತ್ರದಲ್ಲಿ ಆತನಿಗೆ ತೋರಿಸಿದನು.
