ಅವರು ಆತನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಬಂದಾಗ ಆತನಿಗೆ--ಬರಬೇಕಾದವನು ನೀನೋ? ಇಲ್ಲವೆ ನಾವು ಬೇರೊಬ್ಬನಿಗಾಗಿ ಎದುರು ನೋಡ ಬೇಕೋ? ಎಂದು ಕೇಳುವದಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಬಾಪ್ತಿಸ್ಮ ಮಾಡಿಸುವ ಯೋಹಾನನು ನಮ್ಮನ್ನು ನಿನ್ನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಕಳುಹಿಸಿದ್ದಾನೆ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದರು.

King James Version (KJV): When the men were come unto him, they said, John Baptist hath sent us unto thee, saying, Art thou he that should come? or look we for another?

20ಅವರು ಆತನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಬಂದಾಗ ಆತನಿಗೆ--ಬರಬೇಕಾದವನು ನೀನೋ? ಇಲ್ಲವೆ ನಾವು ಬೇರೊಬ್ಬನಿಗಾಗಿ ಎದುರು ನೋಡ ಬೇಕೋ? ಎಂದು ಕೇಳುವದಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಬಾಪ್ತಿಸ್ಮ ಮಾಡಿಸುವ ಯೋಹಾನನು ನಮ್ಮನ್ನು ನಿನ್ನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಕಳುಹಿಸಿದ್ದಾನೆ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದರು.
21ಅದೇಗಳಿಗೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ರೋಗ ಗಳಿಂದಲೂ ವ್ಯಾಧಿಗಳಿಂದಲೂ ದುರಾತ್ಮಗಳಿಂದಲೂ ಪೀಡಿತರಾದ ಅನೇಕರನ್ನು ಆತನು ಗುಣಪಡಿಸಿದನು; ಕುರುಡರಾದ ಅನೇಕರಿಗೆ ದೃಷ್ಟಿಕೊಟ್ಟನು.
22ತರು ವಾಯ ಯೇಸು ಪ್ರತ್ಯುತ್ತರವಾಗಿ ಅವರಿಗೆ--ಕುರು ಡರು ನೋಡುತ್ತಾರೆ, ಕುಂಟರು ನಡೆಯುತ್ತಾರೆ, ಕುಷ್ಠ ರೋಗಿಗಳು ಶುದ್ಧರಾಗುತ್ತಾರೆ, ಕಿವುಡರು ಕೇಳುತ್ತಾರೆ, ಸತ್ತವರು ಎಬ್ಬಿಸಲ್ಪಡುತ್ತಾರೆ, ಬಡವರಿಗೆ ಸುವಾರ್ತೆಯು ಸಾರಲ್ಪಡುತ್ತದೆ ಎಂದು ನೀವು ಕಂಡು ಕೇಳಿದ ಇವು ಗಳನ್ನು
