ಯಾವನೂ ದೇವಾಲಯದ ಮಾರ್ಗದಿಂದ ಯಾವ ಪಾತ್ರೆಯ ನ್ನಾದರೂ ತಕ್ಕೊಂಡು ಹೋಗಗೊಡಿಸಲಿಲ್ಲ.

- 14ಯೇಸು ಅದಕ್ಕೆ--ಇನ್ನೆಂದಿಗೂ ಯಾವನೂ ನಿನ್ನಿಂದ ಹಣ್ಣನ್ನು ತಿನ್ನದಿರಲಿ ಅಂದನು. ಅದನ್ನು ಆತನ ಶಿಷ್ಯರು ಕೇಳಿಸಿಕೊಂಡರು.
- 15ಆಗ ಅವರು ಯೆರೂಸಲೇಮಿಗೆ ಬಂದರು; ಮತ್ತು ಯೇಸು ದೇವಾಲಯದೊಳಕ್ಕೆ ಹೋಗಿ ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಮಾರುತ್ತಿದ್ದವರನ್ನೂ ಕೊಂಡು ಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತಿದ್ದವರನ್ನೂ ಹೊರಗೆ ಹಾಕಲಾರಂಭಿಸಿ ಹಣ ಬದಲಾಯಿಸುವವರ ಮೇಜುಗಳನ್ನೂ ಪಾರಿವಾಳಗಳನ್ನು ಮಾರುತ್ತಿದ್ದವರ ಪೀಠಗಳನ್ನೂ ಕೆಡವಿಹಾಕಿದನು.
- 16ಯಾವನೂ ದೇವಾಲಯದ ಮಾರ್ಗದಿಂದ ಯಾವ ಪಾತ್ರೆಯ ನ್ನಾದರೂ ತಕ್ಕೊಂಡು ಹೋಗಗೊಡಿಸಲಿಲ್ಲ.
- 17ಆತನು ಅವರಿಗೆ ಬೋಧಿಸುತ್ತಾ--ನನ್ನ ಮನೆಯು ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಜನಾಂಗಗಳವರಿಂದ ಪ್ರಾರ್ಥನೆಯ ಮನೆ ಎಂದು ಕರೆಯಲ್ಪಡುವದೆಂದು ಬರೆದಿಲ್ಲವೇ? ಆದರೆ ನೀವು ಅದನ್ನು ಕಳ್ಳರ ಗವಿಯನ್ನಾಗಿ ಮಾಡಿದ್ದೀರಿ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದನು.
- 18ಆಗ ಶಾಸ್ತ್ರಿಗಳೂ ಪ್ರಧಾನಯಾಜಕರೂ ಅದನ್ನು ಕೇಳಿ ಆತನನ್ನು ಹೇಗೆ ಕೊಲ್ಲಬೇಕೆಂದು ಆಲೋಚಿಸಿದರು. ಆದರೆ ಜನರೆಲ್ಲರೂ ಆತನ ಬೋಧನೆಗೆ ಅತ್ಯಾಶ್ಚರ್ಯಪಟ್ಟದ್ದರಿಂದ ಅವರು ಆತನಿಗೆ ಭಯಪಟ್ಟರು.
