ಆತನಿಗೆ--ನೀನು ಯಾವ ಅಧಿಕಾರ ದಿಂದ ಇವುಗಳನ್ನು ಮಾಡುತ್ತೀ? ಮತ್ತು ಇವುಗಳನ್ನು ಮಾಡುವದಕ್ಕೆ ನಿನಗೆ ಅಧಿಕಾರ ಕೊಟ್ಟ ವರು ಯಾರು ಎಂದು ಕೇಳಿದರು.

- 28ಆತನಿಗೆ--ನೀನು ಯಾವ ಅಧಿಕಾರ ದಿಂದ ಇವುಗಳನ್ನು ಮಾಡುತ್ತೀ? ಮತ್ತು ಇವುಗಳನ್ನು ಮಾಡುವದಕ್ಕೆ ನಿನಗೆ ಅಧಿಕಾರ ಕೊಟ್ಟ ವರು ಯಾರು ಎಂದು ಕೇಳಿದರು.
- 29ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಯೇಸು ಪ್ರತ್ಯುತ್ತರವಾಗಿ ಅವರಿಗೆ--ನಾನು ಸಹ ಒಂದು ಪ್ರಶ್ನೆಯನ್ನು ನಿಮ್ಮಿಂದ ಕೇಳುತ್ತೇನೆ, ನನಗೆ ಉತ್ತರಕೊಡಿರಿ; ಆಗ ನಾನು ಯಾವ ಅಧಿಕಾರದಿಂದ ಇವುಗಳನ್ನು ಮಾಡುತ್ತೇನೆಂದು ನಿಮಗೆ ಹೇಳುತ್ತೇನೆ.
- 30ಯೋಹಾನನ ಬಾಪ್ತಿಸ್ಮವು ಪರಲೋಕದಿಂದಲೋ ಇಲ್ಲವೆ ಮನುಷ್ಯರಿಂದಲೋ, ನನಗೆ ಉತ್ತರಕೊಡಿರಿ ಅಂದನು.
