1. 19ಬೋಧಕನೇ, ಒಬ್ಬ ಮನುಷ್ಯನ ಸಹೋದರನು ಮಕ್ಕಳಿಲ್ಲದೆ ಹೆಂಡತಿಯನ್ನು ಬಿಟ್ಟು ಸತ್ತರೆ ಅವನ ಸಹೋದರನು ಅವನ ಹೆಂಡತಿಯನ್ನು ತಕ್ಕೊಂಡು ತನ್ನ ಸಹೋದರನಿಗಾಗಿ ಸಂತಾನವನ್ನು ಪಡೆಯಬೇಕು ಎಂದು ಮೋಶೆಯು ನಮಗೆ ಬರೆದಿರು ತ್ತಾನಷ್ಟೆ.
2. 20ಈಗ ಏಳು ಮಂದಿ ಸಹೋದರರಿದ್ದರು; ಮೊದಲನೆಯವನು ಮದುವೆಯಾಗಿ ಸಂತಾನವಿಲ್ಲದೆ ಸತ್ತನು.
3. 21ಮತ್ತು ಎರಡನೆಯವನೂ ಆಕೆಯನ್ನು ಮದುವೆಯಾಗಿ ಸಂತಾನವಿಲ್ಲದೆ ಸತ್ತನು; ಅದರಂತೆಯೇ ಮೂರನೆಯವನೂ ಆದನು.
4. 22ಹೀಗೆ ಏಳು ಮಂದಿಯೂ ಆಕೆಯನ್ನು ಮದುವೆಯಾಗಿ ಸಂತಾನವಿಲ್ಲದವ ರಾದರು; ಕೊನೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಆ ಸ್ತ್ರೀಯೂ ಸತ್ತಳು.
5. 23ಆದದ ರಿಂದ ಪುನರುತ್ಥಾನದಲ್ಲಿ ಅವರು ಎದ್ದಾಗ ಅವರಲ್ಲಿ ಆಕೆಯು ಯಾರ ಹೆಂಡತಿಯಾಗಿರುವಳು? ಆ ಏಳು ಮಂದಿಗೂ ಆಕೆಯು ಹೆಂಡತಿಯಾಗಿದ್ದಳಲ್ಲಾ ಅಂದರು.
