ಆದರೆ ಪ್ರಧಾನಯಾಜಕರು ತಮಗೆ ಬರಬ್ಬನನ್ನೇ ಬಿಟ್ಟುಕೊಡ ಬೇಕೆಂದು ಜನರನ್ನು ಪ್ರೇರೇಪಿಸಿದರು.

- 12ಆಗ ಪಿಲಾತನು ಪ್ರತ್ಯುತ್ತರವಾಗಿ ಅವರಿಗೆ--ಹಾಗಾದರೆ ನೀವು ಯೆಹೂದ್ಯರ ಅರಸ ನೆಂದು ಕರೆಯುವ ಈತನಿಗೆ ನಾನೇನು ಮಾಡಬೇಕ ನ್ನುತ್ತೀರಿ ಎಂದು ತಿರಿಗಿ ಕೇಳಿದ್ದಕ್ಕೆ--
- 13ಆತನನ್ನು ಶಿಲುಬೆಗೆ ಹಾಕಿಸು ಎಂದು ತಿರಿಗಿ ಅವರು ಕೂಗಿ ಕೊಂಡರು.
