ಇವರು ಸುತ್ತ ಲಿನ ಸೀಮೆಗೂ ಹಳ್ಳಿಗಳಿಗೂ ಹೋಗಿ ತಮಗೋಸ್ಕರ ರೊಟ್ಟಿಯನ್ನು ಕೊಂಡುಕೊಳ್ಳುವಂತೆ ಅವರನ್ನು ಕಳುಹಿಸಿ ಬಿಡು; ಯಾಕಂದರೆ ಅವರಿಗೆ ತಿನ್ನುವದಕ್ಕೆ ಏನೂ ಇಲ್ಲ ಅಂದರು.

- 37ಆತನು ಪ್ರತ್ಯುತ್ತರವಾಗಿ ಅವ ರಿಗೆ--ನೀವೇ ಅವರಿಗೆ ತಿನ್ನುವದಕ್ಕೆ ಕೊಡಿರಿ ಅಂದನು. ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಅವರು ಆತನಿಗೆ--ನಾವು ಹೋಗಿ ಎರಡು ನೂರು ಹಣದ (ಪೆನ್ನಿ: ಇಂಗ್ಲೀಷ್‌ಹಣ) ರೊಟಿಯನ್ನು ಕೊಂಡುಕೊಂಡು ಅವರಿಗೆ ತಿನ್ನುವದಕ್ಕೆ ಕೊಡೋಣವೋ ಅಂದರು.
- 38ಆತನು ಅವರಿಗೆ--ನಿಮ್ಮಲ್ಲಿ ಎಷ್ಟು ರೊಟ್ಟಿಗಳಿವೆ? ಹೋಗಿ ನೋಡಿರಿ ಅನ್ನಲು ಅವರು ತಿಳಿದುಕೊಂಡು--ಐದು ರೊಟ್ಟಿ ಮತ್ತು ಎರಡು ವಿಾನುಗಳು ಇವೆ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದರು.
