13ಯೇಸು ಕೈಸರೈಯ ಫಿಲಿಪ್ಪಿ ಪ್ರಾಂತ್ಯಗಳಿಗೆ ಬಂದಾಗ ಆತನು ತನ್ನ ಶಿಷ್ಯರಿಗೆ--ಮನುಷ್ಯಕುಮಾರ ನಾಗಿರುವ ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಜನರು ಯಾರೆಂದು ಹೇಳುತ್ತಾರೆ ಎಂದು ಕೇಳಿದನು.
14ಆಗ ಅವರು-- ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ಕೆಲ ವರು ಬಾಪ್ತಿಸ್ಮ ಮಾಡಿಸುವ ಯೋಹಾನನು, ಕೆಲ ವರು--ಎಲೀಯನು, ಮತ್ತು ಬೇರೆಯವರು--ಯೆರೆವಿಾಯನು ಇಲ್ಲವೆ ಪ್ರವಾದಿಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಒಬ್ಬನು ಎಂದು ಹೇಳುತ್ತಾರೆ ಅಂದರು.
15ಆತನು ಅವರಿಗೆ--ಆದರೆ ನೀವು ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಯಾರನ್ನುತ್ತೀರಿ ಎಂದು ಕೇಳಿ ದನು.
16ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಸೀಮೋನ ಪೇತ್ರನು ಪ್ರತ್ಯುತ್ತರ ವಾಗಿ--ನೀನು ಕ್ರಿಸ್ತನು, ಜೀವವುಳ್ಳ ದೇವರಕುಮಾರನು ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದನು.
17ಆಗ ಯೇಸು ಪ್ರತ್ಯುತ್ತರವಾಗಿ ಅವನಿಗೆ--ಯೋನನ ಮಗನಾದ ಸೀಮೋನನೇ, ನೀನು ಧನ್ಯನು; ಯಾಕಂದರೆ ರಕ್ತಮಾಂಸವಲ್ಲ (ಮನುಷ್ಯರಲ್ಲ), ಪರಲೋಕದಲ್ಲಿರುವ ನನ್ನ ತಂದೆಯೇ ಅದನ್ನು ನಿನಗೆ ಪ್ರಕಟಿಸಿದನು ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದನು.
