ಆಗ ಅವನು ಎದ್ದು ಆ ಶಿಶುವನ್ನೂ ಅದರ ತಾಯಿ ಯನ್ನೂ ಕರಕೊಂಡು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲ್‌ ದೇಶಕ್ಕೆ ಬಂದಾಗ

- 19ಹೆರೋದನು ಸತ್ತ ಮೇಲೆ ಇಗೋ, ಐಗುಪ್ತದಲ್ಲಿ ಕರ್ತನ ದೂತನು ಯೋಸೇಫನಿಗೆ ಕನಸಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಕಾಣಿಸಿ ಕೊಂಡು--
- 20ಎದ್ದು ಶಿಶುವನ್ನೂ ಅದರ ತಾಯಿಯನ್ನೂ ಕರಕೊಂಡು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲ್‌ ದೇಶಕ್ಕೆ ಹೋಗು; ಯಾಕಂದರೆ ಶಿಶುವಿನ ಪ್ರಾಣವನ್ನು ತೆಗೆಯಬೇಕೆಂದು ಹುಡುಕುವವರು ಸತ್ತುಹೋದರು ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದನು.

- 22ಅರ್ಖೆಲಾಯನು ತನ್ನ ತಂದೆಯಾದ ಹೆರೋದನಿಗೆ ಬದಲಾಗಿ ಯೂದಾಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಆಳುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾನೆಂದು ಕೇಳಿ ಅಲ್ಲಿಗೆ ಹೋಗುವದಕ್ಕೆ ಭಯಪಟ್ಟನು; ಆದಾಗ್ಯೂ ಕನಸಿನಲ್ಲಿ ದೇವರಿಂದ ಎಚ್ಚರಿಸಲ್ಪಟ್ಟವನಾಗಿ ಗಲಿಲಾಯ ಪ್ರಾಂತ್ಯದ ಕಡೆಗೆ ತಿರುಗಿಕೊಂಡನು.ಅವನು ನಜರೇತೆಂಬ ಪಟ್ಟಣಕ್ಕೆ ಬಂದು ಅಲ್ಲಿ ವಾಸಿಸಿದನು; ಇದರಿಂದ--ಆತನು ನಜರಾಯನೆಂದು ಕರೆಯಲ್ಪ ಡುವನು ಎಂಬದಾಗಿ ಪ್ರವಾದಿಗಳಿಂದ ಹೇಳಲ್ಪಟ್ಟದ್ದು ನೆರವೇರುವಂತೆ ಹೀಗಾಯಿತು.
- 23ಅವನು ನಜರೇತೆಂಬ ಪಟ್ಟಣಕ್ಕೆ ಬಂದು ಅಲ್ಲಿ ವಾಸಿಸಿದನು; ಇದರಿಂದ--ಆತನು ನಜರಾಯನೆಂದು ಕರೆಯಲ್ಪ ಡುವನು ಎಂಬದಾಗಿ ಪ್ರವಾದಿಗಳಿಂದ ಹೇಳಲ್ಪಟ್ಟದ್ದು ನೆರವೇರುವಂತೆ ಹೀಗಾಯಿತು.
