ಉಳಿದವ ರು--ಇರಲಿ ಬಿಡು, ಎಲೀಯನು ಬಂದು ಇವನನ್ನು ರಕ್ಷಿಸುವನೇನೋ ನಾವು ನೋಡೋಣ ಅಂದರು.

47ಅಲ್ಲಿ ನಿಂತಿ ದ್ದವರಲ್ಲಿ ಕೆಲವರು ಇದನ್ನು ಕೇಳಿದಾಗ--ಇವನು ಎಲೀಯನನ್ನು ಕರೆಯುತ್ತಾನೆ ಅಂದರು.
48ಕೂಡಲೆ ಅವರಲ್ಲಿ ಒಬ್ಬನು ಓಡಿಹೋಗಿ ಸ್ಪಂಜನ್ನು ತಕ್ಕೊಂಡು ಅದನ್ನು ಹುಳಿರಸದಿಂದ ತುಂಬಿಸಿ ಕೋಲಿಗೆ ಸಿಕ್ಕಿಸಿ ಆತನಿಗೆ ಕುಡಿಯುವದಕ್ಕೆ ಕೊಟ್ಟನು.

50ಯೇಸು ತಿರಿಗಿ ಮಹಾಶಬ್ದದಿಂದ ಕೂಗಿ ಆತ್ಮವನ್ನು ಒಪ್ಪಿಸಿಕೊಟ್ಟನು.
51ಆಗ ಇಗೋ, ದೇವಾಲಯದ ತೆರೆಯು ಮೇಲಿನಿಂದ ಕೆಳಗಿನವರೆಗೆ ಹರಿದು ಎರಡು ಭಾಗವಾಯಿತು; ಭೂಮಿಯು ಕಂಪಿಸಿತು; ಮತ್ತು ಬಂಡೆ ಗಳು ಸೀಳಿದವು;
