ಎಜ್ರನು ಸಕಲ ಜನರ ಕಣ್ಣುಗಳ ಮುಂದೆ ಪುಸ್ತಕವನ್ನು ತೆರೆದನು; (ಯಾಕಂದರೆ ಸಕಲ ಜನರಿಗಿಂತ ಎತ್ತರವಾದ ಸ್ಥಳದಲ್ಲಿ ಇದ್ದನು;) ಅವನು ಅದನ್ನು ತೆರೆದಾಗ ಜನರೆಲ್ಲರೂ ಎದ್ದು ನಿಂತರು.

- 4ಆಗ ಶಾಸ್ತ್ರಿಯಾದ ಎಜ್ರನು ಅದಕ್ಕೋಸ್ಕರ ಮಾಡ ಲ್ಪಟ್ಟ ಒಂದು ಮರದ ಪೀಠದ ಮೇಲೆ ನಿಂತನು. ಅವನ ಬಳಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಅವನಿಗೆ ಬಲಗಡೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಮತ್ತಿತ್ಯನೂ ಶೇಮವನೂ ಅನಾಯನೂ ಊರೀಯನೂ ಹಿಲ್ಕೀ ಯನೂ ಮಾಸೇಯನೂ ಅವನಿಗೆ ಎಡಗಡೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಪೆದಾಯನೂ ವಿಾಷಾಯೇಲನೂ ಮಲ್ಕೀಯನೂ ಹಾಷುಮನೂ ಹಷ್ಬದ್ದಾನನೂ ಜೆಕರ್ಯನೂ ಮೆಷು ಲ್ಲಾಮನೂ ನಿಂತಿದ್ದರು.
- 5ಎಜ್ರನು ಸಕಲ ಜನರ ಕಣ್ಣುಗಳ ಮುಂದೆ ಪುಸ್ತಕವನ್ನು ತೆರೆದನು; (ಯಾಕಂದರೆ ಸಕಲ ಜನರಿಗಿಂತ ಎತ್ತರವಾದ ಸ್ಥಳದಲ್ಲಿ ಇದ್ದನು;) ಅವನು ಅದನ್ನು ತೆರೆದಾಗ ಜನರೆಲ್ಲರೂ ಎದ್ದು ನಿಂತರು.
- 6ಆಗ ಎಜ್ರನು ಮಹಾ ದೇವಾರಾಗಿರುವ ಕರ್ತನನ್ನು ಸ್ತುತಿಸಿದನು. ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಜನರೆಲ್ಲರು ತಮ್ಮ ಕೈಗಳನ್ನೆತ್ತಿ ಪ್ರತ್ಯುತ್ತರವಾಗಿ--ಆಮೆನ್‌, ಆಮೆನ್‌ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿ ನೆಲದ ವರೆಗೂ ತಮ್ಮ ತಲೆಗಳನ್ನು ಬೊಗ್ಗಿಸಿ ಕರ್ತ ನನ್ನು ಆರಾಧಿಸಿದರು
- 7ಇದಲ್ಲದೆ ಯೇಷೂವನೂ ಬಾನೀಯೂ ಶೇರೇಬ್ಯನೂ ಯಾವಿಾನನೂ ಅಕ್ಕೂ ಬನೂ ಶಬ್ಬೆತೈನೂ ಹೋದೀಯನೂ ಮಾಸೇಯನೂ ಕೆಲೀಟನೂ ಅಜರ್ಯನೂ ಯೋಜಾಬಾದನೂ ಹಾನಾನನೂ ಪೆಲಾಯನೂ ಲೇವಿಯರೂ ಜನರಿಗೆ ನ್ಯಾಯಪ್ರಮಾಣವನ್ನು ತಿಳಿಯುವಂತೆ ಹೇಳಿದರು. ಜನರು ತಮ್ಮ ಸ್ಥಳಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ನಿಂತುಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದರು.
