ಕರ್ತನು ಮೋಶೆಗೆ ಹೇಳಿದ್ದೇನಂದರೆ--ಜನರ ಹಿರಿಯರೆಂದೂ ಅವರ ಮೇಲಿನ ಉದ್ಯೋಗಸ್ಥರೆಂದೂ ನೀನು ತಿಳಿದುಕೊಂಡಂಥ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲ್ಯರ ಹಿರಿಯರೊ ಳಗೆ ಎಪ್ಪತ್ತು ಮಂದಿಯನ್ನು ನನ್ನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಕೂಡಿಸಿ ಸಭೆಯ ಗುಡಾರದ ಕಡೆಗೆ ಕರಕೊಂಡು ಬಾ. ಅವರು ಅಲ್ಲಿ ನಿನ್ನ ಸಂಗಡ ನಿಂತಿರಲಿ.

- 16ಕರ್ತನು ಮೋಶೆಗೆ ಹೇಳಿದ್ದೇನಂದರೆ--ಜನರ ಹಿರಿಯರೆಂದೂ ಅವರ ಮೇಲಿನ ಉದ್ಯೋಗಸ್ಥರೆಂದೂ ನೀನು ತಿಳಿದುಕೊಂಡಂಥ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲ್ಯರ ಹಿರಿಯರೊ ಳಗೆ ಎಪ್ಪತ್ತು ಮಂದಿಯನ್ನು ನನ್ನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಕೂಡಿಸಿ ಸಭೆಯ ಗುಡಾರದ ಕಡೆಗೆ ಕರಕೊಂಡು ಬಾ. ಅವರು ಅಲ್ಲಿ ನಿನ್ನ ಸಂಗಡ ನಿಂತಿರಲಿ.
- 17ನಾನು ಇಳಿದು ಬಂದು ನಿನ್ನ ಸಂಗಡ ಮಾತನಾಡಿ ನಿನ್ನ ಮೇಲಿರುವ ಆತ್ಮದಲ್ಲಿ ಪಾಲನ್ನು ತೆಗೆದು ಅವರ ಮೇಲೆ ಇಡುವೆನು; ಆಗ ನೀನು ಜನರ ಭಾರವನ್ನು ಒಬ್ಬನೇ ಹೊತ್ತುಕೊಳ್ಳದ ಹಾಗೆ ಅವರು ನಿನ್ನ ಸಂಗಡ ಅದನ್ನು ಹೊರುವರು.
- 18ಜನರಿಗೆ ನೀನು ಹೇಳಬೇಕಾದದ್ದೇನಂದರೆ--ನಾಳೆಗೆ ನಿಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಶುದ್ಧಮಾಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳಿರಿ. ಆಗ ಮಾಂಸವನ್ನು ತಿನ್ನುವಿರಿ; ಯಾಕಂದರೆ--ನಮಗೆ ಯಾವನು ಮಾಂಸವನ್ನು ತಿನ್ನುವದಕ್ಕೆ ಕೊಡುವನು? ಐಗುಪ್ತ ದೇಶದಲ್ಲಿ ನಮಗೆ ಒಳ್ಳೇದು ಇತ್ತೆಂದು ಕರ್ತನು ಕೇಳುವಂತೆ ಅಳುತ್ತಾ ಹೇಳಿದ್ದೀರಿ. ಆದಕಾರಣ ತಿನ್ನು ವದಕ್ಕೆ ಕರ್ತನು ನಿಮಗೆ ಮಾಂಸವನ್ನು ಕೊಡುವನು ನೀವು ತಿನ್ನುವಿರಿ.
