- 20ಆಗ ದೇವರು ಬಿಳಾಮನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ರಾತ್ರಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಬಂದು ಅವನಿಗೆ ಹೇಳಿದ್ದೇನಂದರೆ--ಈ ಮನುಷ್ಯರು ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ಕರೆಯುವದಕ್ಕೆ ಬಂದಿದ್ದರೆ ನೀನು ಎದ್ದು ಅವರ ಸಂಗಡ ಹೋಗು; ಆದರೆ ನಾನು ನಿನಗೆ ಹೇಳುವ ಮಾತೇ ನೀನು ಆಡಬೇಕು ಅಂದನು.

- 22ಅವನು ಹೋದದರಿಂದ ದೇವರ ಕೋಪವು ಉರಿಯಿತು. ಕರ್ತನ ದೂತನು ಅವನಿಗೆ ಎದುರಾಳಿ ಯಾಗಿ ಮಾರ್ಗದಲ್ಲಿ ನಿಂತುಕೊಂಡನು; ಆದರೆ ಅವನು ತನ್ನ ಕತ್ತೆಯ ಮೇಲೆ ಹತ್ತಿಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದನು; ಅವನ ಇಬ್ಬರು ಆಳುಗಳು ಅವನ ಸಂಗಡ ಇದ್ದರು.
- 23ಕತ್ತೆಯು ಮಾರ್ಗದಲ್ಲಿ ನಿಂತಿದ್ದ ಕರ್ತನ ದೂತನನ್ನೂ ಅವನ ಕೈಯಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಬಿಚ್ಚು ಕತ್ತಿಯನ್ನೂ ನೋಡಿ ಮಾರ್ಗದಿಂದ ವಾರೆಯಾಗಿ ಹೊಲದೊಳಗೆ ಹೋಯಿತು; ಆಗ ಬಿಳಾಮನು ಕತ್ತೆಯನ್ನು ಮಾರ್ಗದೊಳಗೆ ತಿರುಗಿಸು ವದಕ್ಕೆ ಅದನ್ನು ಹೊಡೆದನು.
