ಆಗ ಕರ್ತನು ಕತ್ತೆಯ ಬಾಯನ್ನು ತೆರೆದನು; ಅದು ಬಿಳಾಮನಿಗೆ--ಈಗ ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಮೂರುಸಾರಿ ಹೊಡೆಯುವ ಹಾಗೆ ನಾನು ನಿನಗೆ ಏನು ಮಾಡಿದೆನು ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿತು.

- 29ಬಿಳಾಮನು ಕತ್ತೆಗೆ--ನೀನು ನನಗೆ ಹಾಸ್ಯಮಾಡಿದಿಯಲ್ಲಾ? ನನ್ನ ಕೈಯಲ್ಲಿ ಕತ್ತಿ ಇದ್ದರೆ ನಾನು ಈಗಲೇ ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ಕೊಂದುಹಾಕುತ್ತಿದ್ದೆ ಅಂದನು.
- 30ಕತ್ತೆಯು ಬಿಳಾಮನಿಗೆ ಹೇಳಿದ್ದು--ನಾನು ನಿನ್ನದಾ ದಂದಿನಿಂದ ಈ ದಿವಸದ ವರೆಗೂ ನೀನು ಹತ್ತಿಕೊಂಡ ನಿನ್ನ ಕತ್ತೆಯು ನಾನಲ್ಲವೋ? ನಾನು ಎಂದಾದರೂ ನಿನಗೆ ಈ ಪ್ರಕಾರ ಮಾಡಿದೆನೋ ಅಂದಿತು. ಅದಕ್ಕ ವನು--ಇಲ್ಲ ಅಂದನು.
