1. 17ಹೀಗಿರಲಾಗಿ ವಿರೋಧ ವಾದದ್ದನ್ನು ಮಾಡುವವನು ಇನ್ನು ನಾನಲ್ಲ; ನನ್ನಲ್ಲಿ ನೆಲೆಗೊಂಡಿರುವ ಪಾಪವೇ ಅದನ್ನು ಮಾಡುತ್ತದೆ.
2. 18ಯಾಕಂದರೆ ನನ್ನಲ್ಲಿ ಅಂದರೆ ನನ್ನ ಶರೀರದಲ್ಲಿ ಒಳ್ಳೆಯದೇನೂ ವಾಸವಾಗಿಲ್ಲವೆಂದು ನನಗೆ ತಿಳಿದದೆ; ಒಳ್ಳೇದನ್ನು ಮಾಡುವದಕ್ಕೆ ನನಗೇನೋ ಮನಸ್ಸುಂಟು; ಆದರೆ ಅದನ್ನು ಮಾಡುವದು ನನ್ನಿಂದಾಗದು.
3. 19ನಾನು ಇಚ್ಛಿಸುವ ಒಳ್ಳೇದನ್ನು ಮಾಡದೆ ಇಚ್ಛಿಸದಿರುವ ಕೆಟ್ಟ ದ್ದನ್ನೇ ಮಾಡುವವನಾಗಿದ್ದೇನೆ. 20ಇಚ್ಛಿಸದಿರುವದನ್ನು ನಾನು ಮಾಡಿದರೆ ಅದನ್ನು ಮಾಡಿದವನು ಇನ್ನು ನಾನಲ್ಲ. ನನ್ನಲ್ಲಿ ನೆಲೆಗೊಂಡಿರುವ ಪಾಪವೇ ಅದನ್ನು ಮಾಡಿತು.
4. 20ಇಚ್ಛಿಸದಿರುವದನ್ನು ನಾನು ಮಾಡಿದರೆ ಅದನ್ನು ಮಾಡಿದವನು ಇನ್ನು ನಾನಲ್ಲ. ನನ್ನಲ್ಲಿ ನೆಲೆಗೊಂಡಿರುವ ಪಾಪವೇ ಅದನ್ನು ಮಾಡಿತು.
5. 21ಹೀಗಿರಲಾಗಿ ಒಳ್ಳೆಯದನ್ನು ಮಾಡ ಲಿಚ್ಛಿಸುವ ನನಗೆ ಕೆಟ್ಟದ್ದಾಗಿರುವ ನಿಯಮವು ನನ್ನಲ್ಲಿ ಕಾಣಬರುತ್ತದೆ.
