ಶರೀರ ಸಂಬಂಧವಾದ ಮನಸ್ಸು ದೇವರಿಗೆ ಶತ್ರುತ್ವವು; ಕಾರಣವೇನಂದರೆ ಅಂಥ ಮನಸ್ಸು ದೇವರ ನಿಯಮಕ್ಕೆ ಒಳಪಡುವದಿಲ್ಲ, ಒಳಪಡುವದಕ್ಕಾಗುವದೂ ಇಲ್ಲ.

Shareera sambandhavaada manassu devarige shatrutvavu; kaaranavenandare antha manassu devara niyamakke olapaduvadilla, olapaduvadakkaaguvadoo illa.

5ಶರೀರವನ್ನು ಅನುಸರಿಸುವವರು ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಸಂಬಂಧ ಪಟ್ಟವುಗಳ ಮೇಲೆ ಮನಸ್ಸಿಡುತ್ತಾರೆ; ಆತ್ಮನನ್ನನುಸರಿ ಸುವವರಾದರೋ ಆತ್ಮನಿಗೆ ಸಂಬಂಧಪಟ್ಟವುಗಳ ಮೇಲೆ ಮನಸ್ಸಿಡುತ್ತಾರೆ.
6ಶರೀರಕ್ಕನುಸಾರವಾದ ಮನಸ್ಸು ಮರಣ: ಆತ್ಮೀಕವಾದ ಮನಸ್ಸುಜೀವವೂ ಸಮಾಧಾನವೂ ಆಗಿದೆ.
7ಶರೀರ ಸಂಬಂಧವಾದ ಮನಸ್ಸು ದೇವರಿಗೆ ಶತ್ರುತ್ವವು; ಕಾರಣವೇನಂದರೆ ಅಂಥ ಮನಸ್ಸು ದೇವರ ನಿಯಮಕ್ಕೆ ಒಳಪಡುವದಿಲ್ಲ, ಒಳಪಡುವದಕ್ಕಾಗುವದೂ ಇಲ್ಲ.
8ಹೀಗಿರಲಾಗಿ ಶರೀರಾಧೀನರು ದೇವರನ್ನು ಮೆಚ್ಚಿಸಲಾರರು.
9ನೀವಾ ದರೋ ನಿಮ್ಮಲ್ಲಿ ದೇವರಾತ್ಮನು ವಾಸವಾಗಿರುವದಾದರೆ ಶರೀರಾಧೀನರಲ್ಲ, ಆತ್ಮನಿಗೆ ಅಧೀನರಾಗಿದ್ದೀರಿ. ಯಾವ ನಿಗಾದರೂ ಕ್ರಿಸ್ತನ ಆತ್ಮನು ಇಲ್ಲದಿದ್ದರೆ ಅವನು ಕ್ರಿಸ್ತನವ ನಲ್ಲ.
