എങ്കിലും നിർബ്ബന്ധമില്ലാതെ തന്റെ ഇഷ്ടം നടത്തുവാൻ അധികാരമുള്ളവനും ഹൃദയത്തിൽ സ്ഥിരതയുള്ളവനുമായ ഒരുവൻ തന്റെ കന്യകയെ സൂക്ഷിച്ചുകൊൾവാൻ സ്വന്ത ഹൃദയത്തിൽ നിർണ്ണയിച്ചു എങ്കിൽ അവൻ ചെയ്യുന്നതു നന്നു.

King James Version (KJV): Nevertheless he that standeth stedfast in his heart, having no necessity, but hath power over his own will, and hath so decreed in his heart that he will keep his virgin, doeth well.
World English Bible (WEB): But he who stands steadfast in his heart, having no urgency, but has power over his own will, and has determined in his own heart to keep his own virgin, does well.

39ഭർത്താവു ജീവിച്ചിരിക്കുന്ന കാലത്തോളം സ്ത്രീ ബന്ധിക്കപ്പെട്ടിരിക്കുന്നു; ഭർത്താവു മരിച്ചുപോയാൽ തനിക്കു മനസ്സുള്ളവനുമായി വിവാഹം കഴിവാൻ സ്വാതന്ത്ര്യം ഉണ്ടു; കർത്താവിൽ വിശ്വസിക്കുന്നവനുമായി മാത്രമേ ആകാവു.
