3. 13അപ്പോൾ ദാവീദും അറുനൂറുപേരോളം ഉള്ള അവന്റെ ആളുകളും കെയീലയെ വിട്ടു പുറപ്പെട്ടു തരം കണ്ടേടത്തു സഞ്ചരിച്ചു. ദാവീദ് കെയീല വിട്ടു ഓടിപ്പോയി എന്നു ശൗൽ അറിഞ്ഞപ്പോൾ അവൻ യാത്ര നിർത്തിവെച്ചു.
4. 14ദാവീദ് മരുഭൂമിയിലെ ദുർഗ്ഗങ്ങളിൽ താമസിച്ചു. സീഫ് മരുഭൂമയിയിലെ മലനാട്ടിൽ പാർത്തു; ഇക്കാലത്തൊക്കെയും ശൗൽ അവനെ തിരഞ്ഞുകൊണ്ടിരുന്നു; എങ്കിലും ദൈവം അവനെ അവന്റെ കയ്യിൽ ഏല്പിച്ചില്ല.
