യെഹൂദ്യർ മരുഭൂമിയിലെ കാവൽഗോപുരത്തിന്നരികെ എത്തിയപ്പോൾ അവർ പുരുഷാരത്തെ നോക്കി, അവർ നിലത്തു ശവങ്ങളായി കിടക്കുന്നതു കണ്ടു; ഒരുത്തനും ചാടിപ്പോയിരുന്നില്ല.

- 25യെഹോശാഫാത്തും അവന്റെ പടജ്ജനവും അവരെ കൊള്ളയിടുവാൻ വന്നപ്പോൾ അവരുടെ ഇടയിൽ അനവധി സമ്പത്തും വസ്ത്രവും വിശേഷവസ്തുക്കളും കണ്ടെത്തി; തങ്ങൾക്കു ചുമപ്പാൻ കഴിയുന്നതിലധികം ഊരി എടുത്തു; കൊള്ള അധികമുണ്ടായിരുന്നതുകൊണ്ടു അവർ മൂന്നു ദിവസം കൊള്ളയിട്ടുകൊണ്ടിരുന്നു.
- 26നാലാം ദിവസം അവർ ബെരാഖാതാഴ്‌വരയിൽ ഒന്നിച്ചുകൂടി; അവർ അവിടെ യഹോവെക്കു സ്തോത്രം ചെയ്തതുകൊണ്ടു ആ സ്ഥലത്തിന്നു ഇന്നുവരെ ബെരാഖാതാഴ്‌വര എന്നു പേർ പറഞ്ഞുവരുന്നു.
