അവൻ അസ്ത്രങ്ങളും വലിയ കല്ലുകളും പ്രയോഗിപ്പാൻ ഗോപുരങ്ങളുടെയും കൊത്തളങ്ങളുടെയും മേൽ വെക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു കൗശലപ്പണിക്കാർ സങ്കല്പിച്ച യന്ത്രങ്ങൾ യെരൂശലേമിൽ തീർപ്പിച്ചു; അവൻ പ്രബലനായിത്തീരുവാന്തക്കവണ്ണം അതിശയമായി അവന്നു സഹായം ലഭിച്ചതുകൊണ്ടു അവന്റെ ശ്രുതി ബഹുദൂരം പരന്നു.

17അസര്യാപുരോഹിതനും അവനോടുകൂടെ ധൈര്യശാലികളായി യഹോവയുടെ എണ്പതു പുരോഹിതന്മാരും അവന്റെ പിന്നാലെ അകത്തു ചെന്നു ഉസ്സീയാരാജാവിനെ തടുത്തു അവനോടു:
