പുരോഹിതന്മാർ വേണ്ടുന്നത്രയും പേർ തങ്ങളെത്തന്നേ വിശുദ്ധീകരിക്കാതെയും ജനം യെരൂശലേമിൽ ഒരുമിച്ചുകൂടാതെയും ഇരുന്നതുകൊണ്ടു സമയത്തു അതു ആചരിപ്പാൻ അവർക്കു കഴിഞ്ഞിരുന്നില്ല.

- 5ഇങ്ങനെ അവർ യെരൂശലേമിൽ യിസ്രായേലിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവെക്കു പെസഹ ആചരിപ്പാൻ വരേണ്ടതിന്നു ബേർ-ശേബമുതൽ ദാൻവരെ എല്ലായിസ്രായേലിന്റെ ഇടയിലും പരസ്യമാക്കേണമെന്നു ഒരു തീർപ്പുണ്ടാക്കി. അവർ ബഹുകാലമായിട്ടു അതു വിധിപോലെ ആചരിച്ചിരുന്നില്ല.
