2. 3പുരോഹിതന്മാർ വേണ്ടുന്നത്രയും പേർ തങ്ങളെത്തന്നേ വിശുദ്ധീകരിക്കാതെയും ജനം യെരൂശലേമിൽ ഒരുമിച്ചുകൂടാതെയും ഇരുന്നതുകൊണ്ടു സമയത്തു അതു ആചരിപ്പാൻ അവർക്കു കഴിഞ്ഞിരുന്നില്ല.
3. 4ആ കാര്യം രാജാവിന്നും സർവ്വസഭെക്കും സമ്മതമായി.
4. 5ഇങ്ങനെ അവർ യെരൂശലേമിൽ യിസ്രായേലിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവെക്കു പെസഹ ആചരിപ്പാൻ വരേണ്ടതിന്നു ബേർ-ശേബമുതൽ ദാൻവരെ എല്ലായിസ്രായേലിന്റെ ഇടയിലും പരസ്യമാക്കേണമെന്നു ഒരു തീർപ്പുണ്ടാക്കി. അവർ ബഹുകാലമായിട്ടു അതു വിധിപോലെ ആചരിച്ചിരുന്നില്ല.
5. 6അങ്ങനെ ഓട്ടാളർ രാജാവിന്റെയും പ്രഭുക്കന്മാരുടെയും എഴുത്തുകൾ എല്ലായിസ്രായേലിന്റെയും യെഹൂദയുടെയും ഇടയിൽ കൊണ്ടുപോയി രാജകല്പനപ്രകാരം പറഞ്ഞതു എന്തെന്നാൽ: യിസ്രായേൽമക്കളേ, അബ്രാഹാമിന്റെയും യിസ്ഹാക്കിന്റെയും യാക്കോബിന്റെയും ദൈവമായ യഹോവ നിങ്ങളിൽ അശ്ശൂർരാജാക്കന്മാരുടെ കയ്യിൽനിന്നു തെറ്റി ഒഴിഞ്ഞ ശേഷിപ്പിന്റെ അടുക്കലേക്കു തിരിയേണ്ടതിന്നു നിങ്ങൾ അവന്റെ അടുക്കലേക്കു തിരിഞ്ഞുകൊൾവിൻ.
