So they poured out for the men to eat. And it came to pass, as they were eating of the pottage, that they cried out, and said, O [thou] man of God, [there is] death in the pot. And they could not eat [thereof].

3. 40അവർ അതു ആളുകൾക്കു വിളമ്പി; അവർ പായസം കുടിക്കുമ്പോൾ നിലവിളിച്ചു; ദൈവപുരുഷനായുള്ളോവേ, കലത്തിൽ മരണം എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
4. 41അവർക്കു കുടിപ്പാൻ കഴിഞ്ഞില്ല. മാവു കൊണ്ടുവരുവിൻ എന്നു അവൻ പറഞ്ഞു അതു കലത്തിൽ ഇട്ടു: ആളുകൾക്കു വിളമ്പികൊടുക്ക എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. പിന്നെ ദൂഷ്യമായുള്ളതൊന്നും കലത്തിൽ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നില്ല.
5. 42അനന്തരം ബാൽ-ശാലീശയിൽനിന്നു ഒരാൾ ദൈവപുരുഷന്നു ആദ്യഫലമായിട്ടു ഇരുപതു യവത്തപ്പവും മലരും പൊക്കണത്തിൽ കൊണ്ടുവന്നു. ജനത്തിന്നു അതു തിന്മാൻ കൊടുക്ക എന്നു അവൻ കല്പിച്ചു.
