2. 17എന്നാൽ യോനാഥാനും അഹീമാസും പട്ടണത്തിൽ ചെന്നു തങ്ങളെത്തന്നേ കാണിപ്പാൻ പാടില്ലാതിരുന്നതുകൊണ്ടു ഏൻ-രോഗെലിന്നരികെ കാത്തുനില്ക്കും; ഒരു വേലക്കാരത്തി ചെന്നു അവരെ അറിയിക്കയും അവർ ചെന്നു ദാവീദ്‌ രാജാവിനെ അറിയിക്കയും ചെയ്യും;
3. 18എന്നാൽ ഒരു ബാല്യക്കാരൻ അവരെ കണ്ടിട്ടു അബ്ശാലോമിന്നു അറിവു കൊടുത്തു. ആകയാൽ അവർ ഇരുവരും വേഗം പോയി ബഹുരീമിൽ ഒരു ആളുടെ വീട്ടിൽ കയറി; അവന്റെ മുറ്റത്തു ഒരു കിണറുണ്ടായിരുന്നു; അവർ അതിൽ ഇറങ്ങി.
4. 19വീട്ടുകാരത്തി മൂടുവിരി എടുത്തു കിണറ്റിന്റെ വായിന്മേൽ വിരിച്ചു അതിൽ കോതമ്പുതരി ചിക്കി; ഇങ്ങനെ കാര്യം അറിവാൻ ഇടയായില്ല.
5. 20അബ്ശാലോമിന്റെ ഭൃത്യന്മാർ ആ സ്ത്രീയുടെ വീട്ടിൽ വന്നു: അഹീമാസും യോനാഥാനും എവിടെ എന്നു ചോദിച്ചതിന്നു: അവർ നീർതോടു കടന്നുപോയി എന്നു സ്ത്രീ പറഞ്ഞു അവർ അന്വേഷിച്ചിട്ടു കാണായ്കയാൽ യെരൂശലേമിലേക്കു മടങ്ങിപ്പോയി.
