2. 17അവൻ അടുത്തുചെന്നപ്പോൾ: നീ യോവാബോ എന്നു ആ സ്ത്രീ ചോദിച്ചു. അതേ എന്നു അവൻ പറഞ്ഞു. അവൾ അവനോടു: അടിയന്റെ വാക്കു കേൾക്കേണമേ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. ഞാൻ കേൾക്കാം എന്നു അവൻ പറഞ്ഞു.
3. 18എന്നാറെ അവൾ: ആബേലിൽ ചെന്നു ചോദിക്കേണം എന്നു പണ്ടൊക്കെ പറകയും അങ്ങനെ കാര്യം തീർക്കുകയും ചെയ്ക പതിവായിരുന്നു.
4. 19ഞാൻ യിസ്രായേലിൽ സമാധാനവും വിശ്വസ്തതയും ഉള്ളവരിൽ ഒരുത്തി ആകുന്നു; നീ യിസ്രായേലിൽ ഒരു പട്ടണത്തെയും ഒരു മാതാവിനെയും നശിപ്പിപ്പാൻ നോക്കുന്നു; നീ യഹോവയുടെ അവകാശം മുടിച്ചുകളയുന്നതു എന്തു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
5. 20അതിന്നു യോവാബ്: മുടിച്ചുകളകയോ നശിപ്പിക്കയോ ചെയ്‌വാൻ എനിക്കു ഒരിക്കലും സംഗതിയാകരുതേ.
