അങ്ങനെ തന്നേ അബ്നേർ ബെന്യാമീന്യരോടും പറഞ്ഞു; പിന്നെ അബ്നേർ യിസ്രായേലിന്നും ബെന്യാമീൻ ഗൃഹത്തിന്നൊക്കെയും സമ്മതമായതെല്ലാം ദാവീദിനോടു അറിയിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു ഹെബ്രോനിൽ പോയി.

- 20ഇങ്ങനെ അബ്നേരും അവനോടുകൂടെ ഇരുപതു പുരുഷന്മാരും ഹെബ്രോനിൽ ദാവീദിന്റെ അടുക്കൽ ചെന്നു. ദാവീദ് അബ്നേരിന്നും കൂടെയുള്ളവർക്കും വേണ്ടി ഒരു വിരുന്നു കഴിച്ചു.
- 21അബ്നേർ ദാവീദിനോടു: ഞാൻ ചെന്നു യിസ്രായേലൊക്കെയും യജമാനനായ രാജാവിനോടു ഉടമ്പടി ചെയ്യേണ്ടതിന്നു അവരെ നിന്റെ അടുക്കൽ കൂട്ടിവരുത്തും; അപ്പോൾ നീ ആഗ്രഹിക്കുന്നതുപോലെ എല്ലാവർക്കും രാജാവായിരിക്കാം എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. പിന്നെ ദാവീദ് അബ്നേരിനെ യാത്ര അയച്ചു; അവൻ സമാധാനത്തോടെ പോയി.
