ദൈവത്തിന്റെ പെട്ടകം നിമിത്തം യഹോവ ഓബേദ്-എദോമിന്റെ കുടുംബത്തെയും അവന്നുള്ള സകലത്തെയും അനുഗ്രഹിച്ചു എന്നു ദാവീദ് രാജാവിന്നു അറിവു കിട്ടിയപ്പോൾ ദാവീദ് പുറപ്പെട്ടു ദൈവത്തിന്റെ പെട്ടകം ഓബേദ്-എദോമിന്റെ വീട്ടിൽ നിന്നു ദാവീദിന്റെ നഗരത്തിലേക്കു സന്തോഷത്തോടെ കൊണ്ടുവന്നു.
