1. 9അപ്പോൾ രാജാവു ശൗലിന്റെ ഭൃത്യനായ സീബയെ വിളിപ്പിച്ചു അവനോടു കല്പിച്ചതു: ശൗലിന്നു അവന്റെ സകലഗൃഹത്തിന്നുമുള്ളതൊക്കെയും ഞാൻ നിന്റെ യജമാനന്റെ മകന്നു കൊടുത്തിരിക്കുന്നു.
2. 10നീയും നിന്റെ പുത്രന്മാരും വേലക്കാരും നിന്റെ യജമാനന്റെ മകന്നു ഭക്ഷിപ്പാൻ ആഹാരമുണ്ടാകേണ്ടതിന്നു അവന്നുവേണ്ടി ആ നിലം കൃഷിചെയ്തു അനുഭവം എടുക്കേണം; നിന്റെ യജമാനന്റെ മകനായ മെഫീബോശെത്ത് നിത്യം എന്റെ മേശയിങ്കൽ ഭക്ഷണം കഴിച്ചുകൊള്ളും. എന്നാൽ സീബെക്കു പതിനഞ്ചുപുത്രന്മാരും ഇരുപതു വേലക്കാരും ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു.

4. 12മെഫീബോശെത്തിന്നു ഒരു ചെറിയ മകൻ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു; അവന്നു മീഖാ എന്നു പേർ. സീബയുടെ വീട്ടിലുള്ളവരൊക്കെയും മെഫീബോശെത്തിന്നു ഭൃത്യന്മാരായ്തീർന്നു.
5. 13ഇങ്ങനെ മെഫീബോശെത്ത് യെരൂശലേമിൽ തന്നേ വസിച്ചു രാജാവിന്റെ മേശയിങ്കൽ ഭക്ഷണം കഴിച്ചുപോന്നു; അവന്നു കാലു രണ്ടും മുടന്തായിരുന്നു.
