- 6ശൗലിന്റെ മകനായ യോനാഥാന്റെ മകൻ മെഫീബോശെത്ത് ദാവീദിന്റെ അടുക്കൽ വന്നു സാഷ്ടാംഗം വീണു നമസ്കരിച്ചു. ദാവീദ്: മെഫീബോശെത്തേ എന്നു വിളിച്ചതിന്നു അടിയൻ എന്നു അവൻ പറഞ്ഞു.
- 7ദാവീദ് അവനോടു: ഭയപ്പെടേണ്ടാ; നിന്റെ അപ്പനായ യോനാഥാന്റെ നിമിത്തം ഞാൻ നിന്നോടു ദയകാണിച്ചു നിന്റെ അപ്പനായ ശൗലിന്റെ നിലം ഒക്കെയും നിനക്കു മടക്കിത്തരുന്നു; നീയോ നിത്യം എന്റെ മേശയിങ്കൽ ഭക്ഷണം കഴിച്ചുകൊള്ളേണം എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
