എന്നാൽ എബ്രായഭാഷയിൽ സംസാരിക്കുന്നതു കേട്ടിട്ടു അവർ അധികം മൗനമായി നിന്നു. അവൻ പറഞ്ഞതെന്തെന്നാൽ:

1സഹോദരന്മാരും പിതാക്കന്മാരുമായുള്ളോരേ, എനിക്കു ഇന്നു നിങ്ങളോടുള്ള പ്രതിവാദം കേട്ടുകൊൾവിൻ.
2എന്നാൽ എബ്രായഭാഷയിൽ സംസാരിക്കുന്നതു കേട്ടിട്ടു അവർ അധികം മൗനമായി നിന്നു. അവൻ പറഞ്ഞതെന്തെന്നാൽ:
3ഞാൻ കിലിക്യയിലെ തർസൊസിൽ ജനിച്ച യെഹൂദനും ഈ നഗരത്തിൽ വളർന്നു ഗമാലിയേലിന്റെ കാല്ക്കുൽ ഇരുന്നു പിതാക്കന്മാരുടെ ന്യായപ്രമാണം സൂക്ഷ്മതയോടെ അഭ്യസിച്ചവനുമാകയാൽ നിങ്ങൾ എല്ലാവരും ഇന്നു ഇരിക്കുന്നതുപോലെ ദൈവസേവയിൽ എരിവുള്ളവനായിരുന്നു.
4ഞാൻ പുരുഷന്മാരെയും സ്ത്രീകളെയും പിടിച്ചു കെട്ടി തടവിൽ ഏല്പിച്ചും ഈ മാർഗ്ഗക്കാരെ കൊല്ലുവാനും മടിക്കാതെ ഉപദ്രവിച്ചുംവന്നു.
