1. 6എന്നാൽ ന്യായാധിപസംഘത്തിൽ ഒരു പക്ഷം സദൂക്യരും ഒരുപക്ഷം പരീശന്മാരും ആകുന്നു എന്നു പൗലൊസ് അറിഞ്ഞു: സഹോദരന്മാരേ, ഞാൻ ഒരു പരീശനും പരീശന്മാരുടെ മകനും ആകുന്നു; മരിച്ചവരുടെ പ്രത്യാശയെയും പുനരുത്ഥാനത്തെയും കുറിച്ചു ഞാൻ വിസ്താരത്തിലായിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു വിളിച്ചു പറഞ്ഞു.
2. 7അവൻ ഇതു പറഞ്ഞപ്പോൾ പരീശന്മാരും സദൂക്യരും തമ്മിൽ ഇടഞ്ഞു സംഘം ഛിദ്രിച്ചു.
3. 8പുനരുത്ഥാനം ഇല്ല, ദൂതനും ആത്മാവും ഇല്ല എന്നു സദൂക്യർ പറയുന്നു; പരീശന്മാരോ രണ്ടും ഉണ്ടെന്നു പ്രമാണിക്കുന്നു.
4. 9അങ്ങനെ വലിയോരു നിലവിളി ഉണ്ടായി; പരീശപക്ഷത്തിലെ ശാസ്ത്രിമാരിൽ ചിലർ എഴുന്നേറ്റു വാദിച്ചു: ഈ മനുഷ്യനിൽ ഞങ്ങൾ ഒരു കുറ്റവും കാണുന്നില്ല; ഒരാത്മാവോ ഒരു ദൂതനോ അവനോടു സംസാരിച്ചു എന്നു വന്നേക്കാം എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
5. 10അങ്ങനെ വലിയ ഇടച്ചൽ ആയതുകൊണ്ടു അവർ പൗലൊസിനെ ചീന്തിക്കളയും എന്നു സഹസ്രാധിപൻ പേടിച്ചു, പടയാളികൾ ഇറങ്ങിവന്നു അവനെ അവരുടെ നടുവിൽ നിന്നു പിടിച്ചെടുത്തു കോട്ടയിൽ കൊണ്ടുപോകുവാൻ കല്പിച്ചു.
