3. 7അവൻ ഇതു പറഞ്ഞപ്പോൾ പരീശന്മാരും സദൂക്യരും തമ്മിൽ ഇടഞ്ഞു സംഘം ഛിദ്രിച്ചു.
4. 8പുനരുത്ഥാനം ഇല്ല, ദൂതനും ആത്മാവും ഇല്ല എന്നു സദൂക്യർ പറയുന്നു; പരീശന്മാരോ രണ്ടും ഉണ്ടെന്നു പ്രമാണിക്കുന്നു.
5. 9അങ്ങനെ വലിയോരു നിലവിളി ഉണ്ടായി; പരീശപക്ഷത്തിലെ ശാസ്ത്രിമാരിൽ ചിലർ എഴുന്നേറ്റു വാദിച്ചു: ഈ മനുഷ്യനിൽ ഞങ്ങൾ ഒരു കുറ്റവും കാണുന്നില്ല; ഒരാത്മാവോ ഒരു ദൂതനോ അവനോടു സംസാരിച്ചു എന്നു വന്നേക്കാം എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
