17ദൈവം അബ്രാഹാമിനോടു അരുളിച്ചെയ്ത വാഗ്ദത്ത കാലം അടുത്തപ്പോൾ ജനം മിസ്രയീമിൽ വർദ്ധിച്ചു പെരുകി.
18ഒടുവിൽ യോസേഫിനെ അറിയാത്ത വേറൊരു രാജാവു മിസ്രയീമിൽ വാണു.
19അവൻ നമ്മുടെ വംശത്തോടു ഉപായം പ്രയോഗിച്ചു നമ്മുടെ പിതാക്കന്മാരെ പീഡിപ്പിച്ചു, അവരുടെ ശിശുക്കൾ ജീവനോടെ ഇരിക്കരുതു എന്നുവെച്ചു അവരെ പുറത്തിടുവിച്ചു.
20ആ കാലത്തു മോശെ ജനിച്ചു, ദിവ്യസുന്ദരനായിരുന്നു; അവനെ മൂന്നു മാസം അപ്പന്റെ വീട്ടിൽ പോറ്റി.
