രാജസന്നിധിയിൽനിന്നു ഇത്ര കഠിനകല്പന പുറപ്പെടുവാൻ സംഗതി എന്തു എന്നു അവൻ രാജാവിന്റെ സേനാപതിയായ അര്യോക്കിനോടു ചോദിച്ചു; അര്യോക്ക് ദാനീയേലിനോടു കാര്യം അറിയിച്ചു;

16ദാനീയേൽ അകത്തു ചെന്നു രാജാവിനോടു തനിക്കു സമയം തരേണം എന്നും താൻ രാജാവിനോടു അർത്ഥം അറിയിക്കാമെന്നും ബോധിപ്പിച്ചു.
17പിന്നെ ദാനീയേൽ വീട്ടിൽ ചെന്നു, താനും കൂട്ടുകാരും ബാബേലിലെ ശേഷം വിദ്വാന്മാരോടുകൂടെ നശിച്ചുപോകാതിരിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു
