അങ്ങനെ അവർ യെരൂശലേമിലെ ദൈവാലയത്തിന്റെ മന്ദിരത്തിൽനിന്നു കൊണ്ടുവന്നിരുന്ന പൊൻപാത്രങ്ങളെ കൊണ്ടുവന്നു രാജാവും മഹത്തുക്കളും അവന്റെ ഭാര്യമാരും വെപ്പാട്ടികളും അവയിൽ കുടിച്ചു.

4അവർ വീഞ്ഞു കുടിച്ചു പൊന്നും വെള്ളിയും താമ്രവും ഇരിമ്പും മരവും കല്ലും കൊണ്ടുള്ള ദേവന്മാരെ സ്തുതിച്ചു.
5തൽക്ഷണം ഒരു മനുഷ്യന്റെ കൈവിരലുകൾ പുറപ്പെട്ടു വിളക്കിന്നു നേരെ രാജധാനിയുടെ ചുവരിന്റെ വെള്ളമേൽ എഴുതി; എഴുതിയ കൈപ്പത്തി രാജാവു കണ്ടു.
