കൊമ്പുകളെ പുറപ്പെടുവിച്ചു ഫലം കായിപ്പാനും നല്ലമുന്തിരിവള്ളി ആയിത്തീരുവാനും തക്കവണ്ണം അതിനെ വളരെ വെള്ളത്തിന്നരികെ നല്ലനിലത്തു നട്ടിരുന്നു.

- 9ഇതു സാധിക്കുമോ? അതു വാടിപ്പോകത്തക്കവണ്ണം, അതിന്റെ തളിർത്ത ഇലകളൊക്കെയും വാടിപ്പോകത്തക്കവണ്ണം തന്നേ, അവൻ അതിന്റെ വേരുകളെ മാന്തുകയും കായി പറിച്ചുകളകയും ചെയ്കില്ലയോ? അതിനെ വേരോടെ പിഴുതുകളയേണ്ടതിന്നു വലിയ ബലമോ വളരെ ജനമോ ആവശ്യമില്ല.
- 10അതു നട്ടിരിക്കുന്നു സത്യം; അതു തഴെക്കുമോ? കിഴക്കൻ കാറ്റു തട്ടുമ്പോൾ അതു തീരെ വാടിപ്പോകയില്ലയോ? വളർന്ന തടത്തിൽ തന്നേ അതു ഉണങ്ങിപ്പോകും എന്നു യഹോവയായ കർത്താവു അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു എന്നു നീ പറക.
