21അവൻ അവനോടു: ഇക്കാര്യത്തിലും ഞാൻ നിന്നെ കടാക്ഷിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു; നീ പറഞ്ഞ പട്ടണം ഞാൻ മറിച്ചുകളകയില്ല.
22ബദ്ധപ്പെട്ടു അവിടേക്കു ഓടിപ്പോക; നീ അവിടെ എത്തുവോളം എനിക്കു ഒന്നും ചെയ്‌വാൻ കഴികയില്ല എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. അതുകൊണ്ടു ആ പട്ടണത്തിന്നു സോവർ എന്നു പേരായി.

24യഹോവ സൊദോമിന്റെയും ഗൊമോരയുടെയും മേൽ യഹോവയുടെ സന്നിധിയിൽനിന്നു, ആകാശത്തു നിന്നു തന്നെ, ഗന്ധകവും തീയും വർഷിപ്പിച്ചു.
25ആ പട്ടണങ്ങൾക്കും പ്രദേശത്തിന്നു മുഴുവനും ആ പട്ടണങ്ങളിലെ സകലനിവാസികൾക്കും നിലത്തെ സസ്യങ്ങൾക്കും ഉന്മൂലനാശം വരുത്തി.
