1. 4അവർ ഉറങ്ങുവാൻ പോകുമ്മുമ്പെ സൊദോംപട്ടണത്തിലെ പുരുഷന്മാർ സകല ഭാഗത്തുനിന്നും ആബാലവൃദ്ധം എല്ലാവരും വന്നു വീടു വളഞ്ഞു.
2. 5അവർ ലോത്തിനെ വിളിച്ചു: ഈ രാത്രി നിന്റെ അടുക്കൽ വന്ന പുരുഷന്മാർ എവിടെ? ഞങ്ങൾ അവരെ ഭോഗിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു ഞങ്ങളുടെ അടുക്കൽ പുറത്തു കൊണ്ടുവാ എന്നു അവനോടു പറഞ്ഞു.
3. 6ലോത്ത് വാതിൽക്കൽ അവരുടെ അടുക്കൽ പുറത്തു ചെന്നു, കതകു അടെച്ചുംവെച്ചു:
4. 7സഹോദരന്മാരേ, ഇങ്ങനെ ദോഷം ചെയ്യരുതേ.
5. 8പുരുഷൻ തൊടാത്ത രണ്ടു പുത്രിമാർ എനിക്കുണ്ടു; അവരെ ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളുടെ അടുക്കൽ പുറത്തു കൊണ്ടുവരാം; നിങ്ങൾക്കു ബോധിച്ചതുപോലെ അവരോടു ചെയ്തുകൊൾവിൻ; ഈ പുരുഷന്മാരോടു മാത്രം ഒന്നും ചെയ്യരുതേ; ഇതിന്നായിട്ടല്ലോ അവർ എന്റെ വീട്ടിന്റെ നിഴലിൽ വന്നതു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
