That he may give me the cave of Machpelah, which he hath, which [is] in the end of his field; for as much money as it is worth he shall give it me for a possession of a buryingplace amongst you.

4. 10എന്നാൽ എഫ്രോൻ ഹിത്യരുടെ നടുവിൽ ഇരിക്കയായിരുന്നു; ഹിത്യനായ എഫ്രോൻ തന്റെ നഗരവാസികളായ ഹിത്യർ എല്ലാവരും കേൾക്കെ അബ്രാഹാമിനോടു:
5. 11അങ്ങനെയല്ല, യജമാനനേ, കേൾക്കേണമേ; നിലം ഞാൻ നിനക്കു തരുന്നു; അതിലെ ഗുഹയും നിനക്കു തരുന്നു; എന്റെ സ്വജനം കാൺകെ തരുന്നു; മരിച്ചവളെ അടക്കം ചെയ്തുകൊണ്ടാലും എന്നു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.
