1വരൾച്ചയെക്കുറിച്ചു യിരെമ്യാവിന്നുണ്ടായ യഹോവയുടെ വചനം.
2യെഹൂദാ ദുഃഖിക്കുന്നു; അതിന്റെ പടിവാതില്ക്കൽ ഇരിക്കുന്നവൻ ക്ഷീണിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു; അവർ കറുപ്പുടുത്തു നിലത്തിരിക്കുന്നു; യെരൂശലേമിന്റെ നിലവിളി പൊങ്ങുന്നു.
3അവരുടെ കുലീനന്മാർ അടിയാരെ വെള്ളത്തിന്നു അയക്കുന്നു; അവർ കുളങ്ങളുടെ അടുക്കൽ ചെന്നിട്ടു വെള്ളം കാണാതെ വെറുമ്പാത്രങ്ങളോടെ മടങ്ങി വരുന്നു; അവർ ലജ്ജിച്ചു വിഷണ്ണരായി തല മൂടുന്നു.
